User Configurable Options
The NetSuite Quality of Life Enhancements Suite contains an evolving set of features that are individually user configurable.
Current features include:
- File Cabinet Folder Permalink
- Shift-Click to Copy Internal ID
- Disable Lock Messages
- Close Unfocused Panels
I will take feature requests in the future.
File Cabinet Permalink
This feature updates all of the Folder links in the File Cabinet to update the URL upon clicking. This simple change empowers the user to perform many actions otherwise unpermitted in the NetSuite File Cabinet:
- View and Copy the URL in the URL Bar
- Right-click the folder to obtain the URL
- Go Forward and Backward through the File Cabinet History
- Refresh the Current Directory
- Open Folders in New Tabs/Windows
Quick Copy Field Internal ID
This feature lets the user Shift-Click a Field Label to quickly copy the Field Internal ID String. This is especially useful when writing SuiteScript and working with a number of Custom or Unfamiliar Fields.
Disable Lock Messages
This feature prevents the “This bundle author has locked this object to prevent editing.” message from appearing when hovering over locked components.
Close Unfocused Panels
This feature allows the user to hit Escape on the keyboard to close Help panels even if the panel has been defocused. This also works on the Homepage Personalization panel.
Account Record Links
On almost all pages, when the GL Account is presented as a link, clicking it takes you to the Account Register and never to the Account Record. This setting adds a link to the right of the Account name which will navigate you to the Account Record.
Unblur Logged Out Screens
When logged out, NetSuite displays a Log In modal and blurs the background. However, sometimes, it’s useful to preserve the visibility of the background for – say – comparing information between environments. This option adds a deblur button to the modal.
Display Record XML and JSON Links
On Record pages, this option adds a dropdown next to the Actions dropdown with data links. The two buttons open, in new tabs, the XML or JSON representation of the current record.
